A good friend of mine always tries pushing me to get a sport bike, when I first got a bike, when I told him I was getting a new bike, and even now after getting the CB11 he suggests I should trade it in for something different.
I am not into sport bikes at all, the riding position and all the fairings just isn't me. Cruisers are nice but I like having my feet behind my knees, totally feels awkward having them out, I feel less in control. The CB750 was awesome and the CB11 is a sweet upgrade.
Once I have her paid off I think I might look for a used CB1000R, almost went with it as my new bike but I am more of a daily commuter guy, I like having fun on the weekends for sure but I can't afford two bike payments. I'll see how the CB11 does going up Palomar if weather permits Sunday.
Looks like Red takes the cake on the young end of the spectrum so far... I still have my fingers crossed for a 75+

I'm 43 and wondering if there are any other ladies that ride the CB11? I'm selling my Monster 796....having plenty of fun on my CB!

Let's not forget the ladies (lady) among us! I wonder if you're the only one with a CB in the whole country so far?

A lot the boy racers (and some middle aged ones) at work rib me about riding standard bikes. I don't really give them too much guff about their plastic coated rides. Sportbikes are built for a purpose and they suit it very well.
I used to race in my younger days and on the track a sportbike was ideal. When it comes to everyday riding, I just don't see the point of being hunched over a tank with my legs behind me. Even sportbikers themselves tell me how uncomfortable it gets after awhile. If you're doing 20 laps on the road course there's nothing better, if you have to do a 50 mile commute every day, it's not much fun. Sportbikes are just not very practical for normal street riding.
It's interesting to note that in the rest of the world, where bikes are used for everyday transportation, the standard bike is alive and well.

It's good to see some young people here! I am 64 no kids , married for 43
years. I have had more then 100 bikes over the years of all types but since
I just retired I wanted a bike for myself. For the last 15 years I always had
to have a bike that I could put stuff on to impress my customers at my
motorcycle store. But this one is just for me

71 earlier this year. But, hey, 71 is the new 70! You might say I'm reconsidering a decision I made in 1969 to buy a Bonneville instead of the brand-new CB750 with FOUR cylinders.

Anyone still riding past 70 is an icon in my book. Congrats GS.
69 was one of the better years for the Bonnie. My favorite was the 67 in Burgoine and white. Perfect proportions, awesome sound, beautiful motorcycle. One of the top 3 best looking motorcycles of all time imo.

Call it luck or good genes that I'm still healthy enough! I still ride bicycles too. About 20 years ago my knees began to hurt after a long run. Started cycling, and all the pain went away.
I only had the bonnie a few years, between my two tours to Viet Nam and Thailand. When I came back, a couple of guys who worked for me had BMW's, and I rode BMW's for for years afterwards. Then it was Ducatis, after I became discouraged about the growing complexity of BMWs. Finally figured out that Ducs weren't that happy on the street, but a blast on the track, so I gave up on having a Duc for a street bike, and never really liked the Multistrada that much. I am very comfortable on my CB, now approaching 400 miles (we have had a cold spring with lots of snow). It's so easy and fun to ride that I tend to leave the Vstrom in the garage. The old Beemer (78) is in "rehab", and will soon be done, with new almost everything. I HOPE I have just ordered the last part I need to complete the job: a new set of Michelin Pilot Activs. I'm anxious to see how those compare to the old Dunlops I'm taking off. (Never put Dunlops on an old airhead!)

My son has a Duc. It is a very intense street bike.
I hink the best looking motorcycle ever made is the mid 70s R 90/R 100. I have loved looking at Beemers since I was a kid. Never could stand riding them though. 3 times I've wanted to buy Beemers and all 3 times a test ride ruined the experience and squashed the sale. I did rent one on an Eidelwiess tour thru Europe, and enjoyed it, an R1200R, but I already have an ST 1300 Honda for touring, And I can't justify spending another $16 grand for a Beemer.
