When I have left my molded plugs behind (either left them in a different range bag or washed them and left them in the bathroom) my back ups are a pair of [url=http://www.surefire.com/ep3-sonic-defenders.html]SUREFIRE SONIC DEFENDERS. Good luck.

WHAT?!?!

The SureFire ear plugs are what I wore after trying the drugstore foam and swimmers wax ear plugs. I tried both types of the SureFire. The ones with the foam end were not as good as the EP3s with the silicon discs. Neither were as quiet and comfortable as the E-A-R Soft yellow neon plugs, or I would still be wearing them. They also had a tendency to pop out after hours of riding. Although more expensive that the E-A-R Soft plugs, they were re-useable after being cleaned.

Bose QC 20s. Cancel out lots of the noise and let me use a talking GPS at times when I need it.

I have some low-level tinnitus too.

Always wondered if noise cancellation could contribute to hearing damage. Any ideas?

No idea, but I guess it's possible as noise cancellation generates a low-level 'white' noise.
