I had a productive day so far. I went to my dealer and had new tires, angled valve stems and new rear brake pads installed. Then I took a ride to the U.S. Military Academy at West Point. With heighten security measures, you can not just drive in and capture pictures of the beautiful buildings. So I got a photo of the former “Lee Gate” located on Route 218.

well today's the last day of the month and I think I was first poster, so lets have some fun with the Sept challenge

Post a picture of your favorite place to ride for something to eat and bonus points for a pic of what you normally order with a description (if necessary)

For me living in Cincinnati, it's our famous Skyline Chili

We eat this at least once a week. People from all over the world, including world dignitaries eat Skyline if they come to our fair city.

It's not Chili as you would imagine, but a secret recipe meat sauce developed in 1949 (recipe kept in a bank vault), spread over a bed of spaghetti and topped with finely shredded cheddar cheese.
Chili Spagehetti and cheese is called a 3 way
add kidney beans or chopped onions for a 4 way
or add beans AND onions for a 5 way
it comes with a dish of Oyster crackers

They also serve coney's, which are a small hot dog, on a steamed bun, with mustard, chili sauce and shredded cheese to which you can also add onions

add a Dr Pepper, coke or Root Beer to wash it down with

Nice call on the Skyline. Used to eat at one of those once a month when I was in Columbus, OH for work. As I'm sure you know, it would be illegal to call that chili here in Texas so we don't have any of them here.

Great subject for this month, Ferret. I will have to make the 50 mile round trip to my fave breakfast once I get back from the rally. It's a rotten job, but someone has to do it.

Well, shoot. I'm going to have to sack up and ride to West L.A. for this one. The best Indian fast food in L.A. is a walk-up counter inside a Chevron station on Santa Monica Blvd. It's a quick jaunt from the Petersen Museum, and a treat after a day of working there. But, since the museum is still closed, I haven't had my fix for a long time. Sounds like a good time to do it!
