Average CB1100 Rider Age
Wish my mpg were that high! I live 5 miles from work, city traffic and I don't break 40 mpg... Even my big trip this past weekend I only got 41mpg... That was averaging 55-60 on the way out and then 65 roughly on the way back. I started flashing on the gas gauge at 114 miles and then when I filled up only was able to get in 2.78 gallons which works out to be 41.0071942 mpg..

Need one of those big tail wind rides...

I don't know how CoyoteJim can get such good mileage and how Dbuster can get such bad mileage. That's nearly a 40 mpg spread on the same bike although I think Jim must be calculating incorrectly. The best I heard before Jim was 60 mpg and most seem to be getting in the low to mid 50's.

Forty year old guy here. I don't have a CB1100 yet, but I think it's very likely that I will. As others have said, it ticks a lot of boxes. Nostalgia doesn't play a part, but being a fantastic "standard" bike certainly does.

Hey Julian, were you a regular on 599.com? I lurked there quite a bit but suspected I was a tad out of my age group. Really loved the 599 though

To be honest, I had my heart set on a CB1000R...I wrote both....the CB1000R was a ROCKET!!! with lots of cool modern technology, massive cool rear tire, mono shock, water cooled, single swing arm, 130hp....but after riding both, I came home with the CB1100 std. Very comfortable, plenty power and I decided I didn't need to ride wheelies at my age ;-)
About gas mileage, I don't and never have gotten good gas mileage...I guess it depends on how you ride/drive...when I slow down, I gear down...automatically....I always want to be near the bottom of the power curve (about 2000-2500rpm) for evasive action if needed. Sure this 1100 will pull your weight at very high gears even at low speed, but that is not why I bought it ;-)

Im 22 years old it might be safe to say im one of the youngest owners here ive always had a soft spot for 70s early 80s street bikes my dad had 2 or 3 KZs when he was my age and one of his friend still drag races them so ive been around them for a while so when it came time for me to get a bike I bought my cb650 it was cheap and my dad made me do all the work on it myself and im glad he did I appreciate it a lot more. When I got a job a friend of mine told me to look up the new cb1100 because it looks old I didnt believe him so I didnt even look a few weeks later we went to get his victory from the shop and they had a CB siting out in the parking lot he couldn't get the truck stopped before I was out and looking at it an hour later I was going home with it. I love the bike and the looks it gets and all the old fellers I get that follow me at bike night just to ask what year it is or where I found such a clean old bike just to surprise them that its a new one. Honda did an awesome job on it!

I for one, think it's amazing that we have at least 22 members over age 66 that have this bike.

Good on ya old guys Thumbs Up ( lol you have me by at least 2 years so I'm still young)

I agree I just read through this whole thread im happy to be part of a good crew of guys! I applaud all of you guys who can get on this bike and enjoy itfor what it is. It doesnt matter if you can jump on the bike slowly sling you leg over it or have to use a step stool this bike is vintage and new at the same time and its good to hear that its bringing some of you back to your youth along with pulling in a new crowd like myself.

I lurked there a bunch as well and only made a few posts. I have the feeling that I'm an "old" guy over there, and a "young" guy over here. There are things to be learned in both places.
