Ben

Thank you. I seem to be reasonably lucky with wind, but I was reminded recently of how tough it can be. Just maintaining the speed limit was really hard work.

New Richmond Heritage Tree. A large Burr Oak tree on the banks of the Ohio River in our little town, which no doubt survived the great flood of 1937 and several major floods since, including the 1997 flood when my son was in High School. Don't know the age of the tree but well over 100 years I would think. It's a massive tree.

Cut it down, count the rings and report back. Tongue

Seriously, great entry, Ferret.

And ... that’s the first time I’ve ever seen that usage of the verb ‘to plat’.

This 80 year old banyan tree was chosen as a significant element in the renovation project of the Norton Museum of Art in West Palm Beach, FL. The famous architectural firm Foster+Partners decided to maintain the venerable tree and build the new structure around it without compromising the survival of the banyan.

Unfortunately, this month's photo challenge comes a bit too early since the project is scheduled to be finished by February 2019, and the picture would have been much nicer with no construction elements. Great topic selection in any case, NRTM! Thumbs Up
