Lovely, we appreciate the update and fix, having a diagram can be a big step forward and welcome to the world of "fixed it highs" feelgood after learning a new trick.
And things like this happen regularly, i failed to start my new cb1000r, lights but no start, it went a lot better when i got it out of gear and the green neutral light came on....

Safeties work, i would have been very sad if the bike took off in gear if it wasn't for the little neutral switch, unusually i had stopped the engine with the killswitch in gear and forgotten about it.
There is No substitute for experience and much cheaper to learn from someone else's mistakes as long as you are not standing in front of it.
