Now I'm even more confused by this. The ride home yesterday (85° F) the bike was perfect. No high idle, really smooth and such a pleasant ride. I ended up not doing the ECU reset. And this morning's ride in (53°-55°) also no problems. The idle was perfect once I left our neighborhood, and it stayed that way. When I was having trouble the temps must have been under 50° because my fingers were pretty cold by the time I got to work, anything over that and my thin gloves do a decent job and keeping me warm enough.
Even if this is just normal cold weather operation. Or that magical self healing Honda power kicking in. I'll end up snagging one of those new ECUs and keeping it on a shelf. Mainly, for peace of mind in case mine gives problems in the future and they become hard to find.
