Dutch, you can disconnect the TPS and ride the bike like that. You won't be able to rev over 5,000 and the check engine light will be on, but otherwise the bike should run fine. I tried it and it and the bike will idle at 1050 and run as it should. It is the "limp home" mode, but at least it is not the runaway fast idle.
