Tire Change Pain (In the Wallet)

I'm gonna need an oil change soon, and I'll probably just have it done. It's easy enough to do, but I'd have to lay on the ground to do it, (no lift), and then take the used oil back to where I bought it, only to have them tell me the tank is full (happened before). Too much hassle.

Are you not allowed to leave the used oil (in the empty new oil containers) at the mouth of the service garages?

It is a common practice in southern Ontario Canada. The garage will gather up the jugs of used oil at their convenience and manage it as per their regulatory responsibility.
