I replace OEM spark plugs every 50,000 kms, with no sign of any electrode wear.
As to the spark plugs replacement:
* before starting any work, blow out any dirt/dust that has accumulated around the spark plug sockets
* then remove the seat, unscrew the M8 tank mounting bolt/12mm socket and insert a 2x4** between the tank and frame to give extra space to access the spark plugs, total 30-45 min job
** high side up, it may be necessary to remove the rubber vent hose
