2013 CB1100 MPG

The one real gripe I have the range of this model.About 150 miles
per tank.Plus the fuel gauge red light goes on too early.Like with around
a half tank.Then the red light blinks with .9 stiil in the tank.

wow..that is one thirsty bike. Mine goes on flashing reserve between 131 and 148 and I have gone 180 miles on a tank...then again I don't have a bunch of performance mods and ride like a granny for the most part.

No it doesn't ..you can't figure mileage until you know how many gallons it took to refill.

I've had this argument a few times.Once with a guy who
swore he knew exactly how to figger mileage.
When one goes to calculate how many gallons they put back in
as if used that says nothing about how they rode { fast or slow
or inbetween }.In order for any mileage to be reliable one would have to ride in exactly the same way { same road and mpr and
revs }. Don't forget that revs is what determines how fuel efficient
an engine.

Have roughly 25 miles since fill up and still have all the bars. At my currrent mid 30s mpg, each bar above the blinking light ( 4 bars ) should represent 22.5 miles. I know this gauge shouldn't be linear, but still going to check and see.

Those bars are a complete joke.Why are they even there.
The Rune has bars also.But it's a state-of the art digital
speedo and fuel gauge.I know pretty much what each bar
represents per fuel usuage.Roughly 40 miles per bar.
Sometimes 50 depending on my riding style.

Well it is a darn good educated estimate. We know about how many gallons are consumed when the blinky light goes on, the bike tells you how many miles. A fill up will just confirm it.

I agree but some peoples blinky light goes on at 87 (keyfyoozed) and some at 141 ( mine)

in the example above I just said how many miles I went to blinky light and filling up, without giving the info as to how much it took to refill it, and Foolardi said 45 mpg when it was actually 56.8 mpg once all the info was known. Big difference between 45 and 56.8( more than 30%) Even bigger diff between kens mid 30's and my mid 50's. ( more than 50% difference)

First of all you're not getting 180 miles per tank range.
Forget all about this 56.8 number.
No way ... No how.You need to do a little research.
Check out past bikes over the years and what kind of
miles per gallon.
It is my firsthand experience that Harley guys loves to
brag about their mileage.Because it is totally subjective.
It is sometimes ALL BIAS. Actually it's a hoot to hear bikers
run on about the mileage they get.
Even if you rode an entire tank never exceeding 2700 rpm
I doubt you'd get over 50 miles per gallon.But maybe.
That would also mean no traffic light stops and no stop
signs.Where you are using fuel but putting no miles on
the odometer.
