There are quite a few seat comfort threads around, some people find the seat causes pain after 30 or 40 minutes of riding, and have bought other brands of seats, I assume the same for the passenger. I did find by the end of last season, after 3K miles I was able to ride on the stock seat for more than an hour and was starting to get used to it so may have saved myself >$500 on a new one. Of course now adays, I may agree with your wife and do not want to ride further than 200 miles either, although some here do, I would go for another type of bike for long rides, I use the CB for mostly less than 90 minute rides around my back roads.
