I have no problems with Chris, he reminds me of a teacher I had in College. Always interesting to see what he comes up with next. Sometimes I wonder what he is really up to, he is clearly fishing for reactions.

As for the Triumph and Kawasaki twins, they are beautiful motorcycles for sure. Comparing them to the CB is comparing apples to oranges, they are two very different genre's of motorcycle. IMO the only thing they have in common is that they are retro bikes.

I don't care whether or not you choose the CB1100, nor does it matter what you ride, just have fun and be safe!

Kudos on your research, however, I still stand by my lack of contradiction.
If Honda had never produced a 6th speed on the CB11, I wouldn't even return to this forum, because I'd already be riding a T100 with the peashooter pipes and Thruxton bars.
But the CB11's 6th speed (and the 39 or 38-tooth sprocket) are enough to give me pause. (I'd probably make one or two tweaks to the CB11 too.)

So blame Honda for my annoying presence here.

I honestly don't know what it is that that you're really after in order to justify a bike purchase, but hopefully you'll figure it out. If that is truly your intention.

Just try to remember that the things which matter to you might not matter nearly as much to the next guy. We all have different priorities. In your case, you seemingly have different priorities from one post to the next. Trolling perhaps?

What defense does a mortal have when God or a moderator insults him? I guess you could ban me or cast me out. That would be only slightly more cowardly than insulting my brain's ability to wrestle with common sense. If anyone had said such things about you, they would stand a decent chance of being banned from this forum.

I still stand by my previous assertions about the 6th gear. I'm not looking to bring resale values down so I can grab one on the cheap. As ugly as it is, I'm only stating the truth as I see it.
I don't work for Kawasaki or Triumph or Honda. I work only for the truth from my perspective. Instead of putting down my brain, tell me why a 5-speed is superior (or at least not inferior) to a 6 speed. Or why a Triumph or W800 is superior (or at least not inferior) to a CB1100 with the staggered cams and computerized speed retardant.
Yes, yes, I know no one cares about the pre-programmed top end retardant, because we all live in idyllic villages connected by winding sheep trails.

Rely too much on the opinions of others to form your own you do. Honda should pay you for those slogans. (To never speak them I mean. That is better than the best argument I could come up with for not buying the CB1100.)

We try to play nice here, and I'm probably not setting a great example in this thread. Chris is obviously a sharp guy. But I do think that he likes to push buttons, and not just the kind that are found on the controls of a motorcycle.

Do we really need to call one another nut sacks because we don't like some of their practices? One of the things I like about this forum is that people generally generally don't see the need to resort to insult while indulging in robust debate.

Chris is undeniably a stirrer, but he's also interesting and adds a bit of value about the joint. He's also shown himself willing to take it. Let's help him with his ruminations not crap on him because he hasn't decided to take the pledge and buy a CB1100. If he makes a different decision and is happy with it, more strength to him.

Sorry for venting. I've been on another forum this morning where the behaviour is awful and people are proud of it.
