Many of us have had similar reactions.
The vintage bike club I belong to meets every Sunday for breakfast at a restaurant on the edge of town.
We can see our bikes through a large window and my CB caught the attention of many customers as they passed by - as did all the vintage bikes from the 50's to the 70's; Triumph's, BSA's, Norton's, Yamaha's, BMW's.
I stopped for gas on the way home and a fellow gassing up too commented that I had a lovely bike. He thought it was a restoration, but looked puzzled when I said it was brand new
