Yes we did. Charley had ridden my CB11 before he got the Ducati but it had been a while. He really wanted a Ducati because of the "cool factor". But getting back on the CB11 was eye opening for him. He was clearly surprised at how good it was and remarked that it was every bit as fast as his 796, much smoother and far more comfortable. He also said it handled great and effortlessly. In his own way he told me that if the CB11 was a Ducati, he would prefer it to the 796. BUT, the trump card is (in Charley's words) pulling up to his friends house on that bright red Italian bike, pulling his helmet off, and shaking his hair out in slow motion with the girls looking on! He says the Duck performs better in that mode.
Charley sounded almost a bit disappointed admitting how much he liked the CB11 compared to his Ducati and that's the truth. I've ridden both quite a bit and the CB11 is so superior as a sport/cruiser that it's no contest. If every potential customer rode both bikes, nobody would buy the Ducati unless they just had to have an Italian bike. Cheers.
