I'd be tempted, but then I recall the effort required to keep the spokes clean and shiny. Modern chroming processes need to be environmentally friendly, and as such, the present day chrome is not as good and needs regular attention in order to keep looking good and not discoloring or rusting or flaking off. Chrome from 20-50 years ago lasted much longer with little effort.
