The 1300 was first introduced in '97 and then slightly restyled in '98 I believe. '97 had a rounder tank, where the '98 tank was more "square". Looks of the engine and bits here and there changed a little over the years. I had a 2008 CB1300 with half fairing for a couple of years, which I had to sell because of change of residence. It was a beast. I remember having trouble keeping the front wheel on the pavement; I used to force myself to think that I wasn't competing in the SBK(OK maybe that's exaggerating it a bit). The 1100 has a much smoother and comfortable ride in comparison. Again, it's not hard to imagine that both bikes share the same line of heritage...
