What he said. It's war out there. You are gonna get knocked down. People are not paying attention, changing lanes (ask Randy B), texting, putting on makeup, screaming at their kids. If I am going slightly faster than traffic I have less to worry about in my mirrors.

It's part of motorcycling life where I live. Do otherwise, is to be a speed bump.
