I've done some research on the Metzler Roadtec Z8, there have been complaints about the rear suddenly showing excess wear (cords showing) even with wear bars showing and the front prematurely cupping & 2500Mi.
I have no experience with these tires, just posting so you guys who buy these are aware of what people are saying.

Would Not Be My Choice
These tires came stock on my K1600GT. I'll start by saying that I am very particular about my tire pressures and always do a "walk around" to check out my bikes before every ride! I would consider myself as a fairly aggresive rider ... I drag parts semi often.
The front tire started cupping around 2,500-3,000 miles, the rear was showing cords at 3,872 miles. I had done a walk around and was riding with my wife the day before I found the cords showing. The tire looked fine, still not into the wear bars (close but not into# so we rode two up for a short ride ... maybe 200 miles. We got home late, parked the bike in garage. The next day I was going for a ride and during inspection found a strip in center of tire #all the way around) that measures anywhere from 2" - 4.5" of steel belt! So the tire went from not into wear bars to showing cords within 200 miles!!!!!
I am now in process of deciding what tire to run ... the only thing I am certain of it will NOT be the Metzler Roadtec!

Bad design. A dangerous tire.
I've had three pair of these tires on my Concourse. The problem is there are no discernible wear indicators. You will go very suddenly from what appears to be a good tire to what in reality is a dangerous tire with threads showing. I got stranded because of this and will never use these tires again. Others have reported this as well. Should have listened to the forums.
