Everyone likes to feel like they are getting good value when making a purchase. Good value means different things to different people. Sure, price is a part of it, but there are a lot of other factors as well. Some guys churn through bikes like batteries in an Best Buy store. Other guys tend to hang on to their major purchases (I still consider a motorcycle to be a major purchase) for long periods of time. I think Honda might have had folks that fall into the second group in mind when they finally decided to produce the CB1100. I'm guessing that's still the case. I have no idea what the MSRP will be for the 2017 model, but I'll predict that once again, the CB1100 will seem overpriced to most people. For those who the bike truly appeals to and who will likely be hanging on to it for a good long while the MSRP won't be quite as much of a concern, nor will the resale values for that matter.
