If it came in the bike but not connected, I know it has to come out for the dealer to install the lifting strap. I had to install mine as they forgot and just put it in the tool box. The service manager wasn't exactly happy with the mech when he found that out
We are used to the AGM batteries that are shipped with a battery pack that gets filled and charged (YTX series), but our original battery (YTZ14s) is filled, sealed, and charged by Yuasa. It is shipped in the bike with the lifting strap around it, but if it is taken out to charge, the strap can be lost.
Since that battery is used on several Honda models, some (better) dealers will keep one on charge for that quick sale, and rotate it into a bike with a low battery, so the strap is easily overlooked.
As far as I know, only our CB1100 uses the strap. If by chance yours does not have the strap on it, you can take off the left sidecover and sort of push up on the bottom of the battery by moving the rubber flap under the battery box.
Something else curious - a lot of new Hondas use batteries that are the exact same size, but have different cranking power and amp ratings. Some are factory filled, some come with acid packs. The higher powered ones not only cost more, they can weigh a pound and a half more.

wonder how they snag the pics? 4th row down on right bike with luggage is my bike, 5th row down white bearded guy sitting on bike is me (picking up my 13), 12th row down guy standing by bike is me (picking up my 14 dlx)
Found the pictures. Somehow I had imagined a ferret as a small, slim, agile creature, but must be mistaken. That person was shaped more like me.
