I usually ride alone, but one day was out with a friend on a Honda CB600F4. When I mentioned I had trouble inserting my foam ear plugs, he suggested moistening them with my tongue. Apparently that is what race car drivers do. It works!
It took me a year to find good ear plugs. A rider on the CB500X forum suggested 3M E-A-Rsoft yellow neons. After trying them, I bought a box of 200 pair on Amazon. Although inexpensive, they are soft, comfortable, stay put, and really cut the noise.
