If you buy out of state you might want to check this, the DMV said that it was federal.
A Certificate of Origin or in this case Import of Origin should accompany the bike to its destination. The certificate allows the dealer to insure the bike on its premises and trade to other dealers without having to title the bike. Often when you buy a new vehicle its origin is not from the same dealer of your purchase. He should have that certificate in his hands.
