While I do have a 5wt trout rod, the trout fishing isn't all that spectacular in my neck of the woods and my only focus has been steelhead for the past few years (using 6wt 12' 6", and 7wt 13' two-handed spey rods). But I like the way you think and will have to give this some thought. husky385 is a fly fisherman as well. Spey fishing can require a bit more gear, but a single-handed trout setup during the warm weather months would be much more doable by motorcycle. Not sure where you fish locally, but keep in mind the midwest trip that I told you about recently. If I could somehow combine hanging out in Chicago, getting in some fly fishing, taking in the Springfield Mile and wrap everything up in St. Louis I'm not sure that my mental facilities would survive such exposure. But it sure would be fun to see how well I'd hold up!
