Start up idle / procedure?
#5
Mine maintains the high idle longer than any other modern bike I can recall, lasting maybe a couple of minutes or so. Eventually it settles in to its 1050-rpm hum, and that's that. I don't worry about riding her any specific way at start-up. I hit the ignition switch, put on my helmet and gloves, zip the sleeves over the gloves, and away I go. Often as not there is a parking lot or whatever to negotiate before hitting the street, so I suppose I usually do start off by going slowly, at low RPM. Rarely can I fire her up and simply rip away, right from the start, but when the opportunity presents itself I don't worry about it.
