Start up idle / procedure?
#2
You're right about the fast idle on starting. Up here where it's generally cooler, the fast idle can last 5-6 minutes then settles down to about 1100 rpm. It depends on the outside temp.
I start and go, and I think most do. By the time I'm through some city stop signs and traffic lights (speed limit 30 mph) the engine is usually well warmed up by the time I get to open roads.
I think most riders don't bother with a warm-up. Just keep the rpm's down until there is some heat in the engine.
