Slim and lighter and faster and does not care that beautiful tank holds less gas and even loves that it makes it slimmer than the red bikes. The DLX with a beautiful and less slim tank and hot pipes on both sides, that's okay because it is beautiful also, just in different ways and that's okay too.

I didn't insult anybody. I stated facts. The Deluxe clearly has more content than the Standard, which is why the Deluxe costed more and was more popular, despite its higher price tag.

Actually, no. The seamless, contoured tank with the brilliant paintwork on the '17 is almost universally regarded among non-owners as being better-looking than the tank on the previous models.

Which the red '13 also had, and which sold a lot better than the '14 Standard.

The '13 and '14 Standard tanks are no slimmer than the Deluxe tank. The extra capacity makes the Deluxe's tank taller, but no wider. The '17's tank is also just as slim as the '14's.
The '14 also is not faster than the '17, which makes a bit more power than the '14 Standard to offset the additional ten lbs, and, more importantly, handles significantly better as a result of its updated chassis and suspension. In the real world, superior handling equates to greater speed.
