Regarding the tank and side covers, they are the whitehouse kit purchased on Samurider.  This got me to looking to see if they still offer it, and they do.  The price is about half of what it was based on the $/yen conversion lately.

The reader's digest version is that replacing the tank on a 2017 isn't particularly straightforward.  Plenty who own 2013s and 2014s will tell you that it is, but it's a different and less convenient design.  Also, the 2017 seat doesn't fit with the tank, so you need to replace that with the whitehouse one also.

I thought I remembered a thread; I had forgotten the issue with that little white tab under the tank.  Thanks for finding the thread; it's fun to go back nearly 8 years!
