i've been "burned" too many times by jackets claiming to be summer jackets that have no large mesh panels. I have a very hard time believing that it actually breathes and gives you a lot of wind without plenty of mesh. "vents" just don't cut it when it's 120 degrees over the highway.
Exactly my concern. I'm hoping that it won't be hot enough in SoDak to get a full 90+ degree test, but I'm sure I'll have a couple of the days G.O. describes coming up.
The wet t-shirt/cooling vest method should actually be more effective with less mesh, but again, that remains to be seen. Worse comes to worse, though, I'll have a good spring/fall jacket. If that turns out to be the case, then I'll just have to buy a new mesh jacket next summer (don't mention this to Cheryl...she'll either kill the idea or use it as an excuse to buy more gear for herself)
