His nurse told me I *should* be good to go in three weeks.
Oh what a web we weave,,,,,
Ok I will tell you the truth. I had miniscus arthroscopic surgery last August. If you remember I was scheduled to go on our annual father son trip in Sept. They told me 4 weeks recovery which would be 2 days before our trip. I went on the trip, but I can tell you I was not recovered. Had to be gentle with that knee. It actually just started feeling like MY knee again about a month ago 9 months after the surgery. I still won't kneel on it.
The surgery itself is a piece of cake. In a couple days you will be hobbling around with crutches. In a couple more days you will be hobbling around without the crutches, but the knee will be tender, won't like bending or being worked. The PT they send you too will seem like a waste of time and I actually signed off for them and quit after a couple of weeks. I was already doing more at home than they had me doing. Your body will tell you what you can comfortably do and what you can't. If it's uncomfortable you can probably do it, if it hurts then don't do it.
Btw there are two kinds of surgeries, one where they have to sew up the miniscus, the other where they go in a trim off a frayed part. Do you know which one they are going to do? I had the trimmed off kind. Plus there are two thought processes as to whether have it fixed at all if it's just frayed. As long as you are not literally locking up or collapsing with it, some say just let it go.
