The Day the Music Died
#4
In addition to the Square Four, Ariel Motors made a series of successful single and twin cylinder motorcycles.
The Huntmaster/Cyclone series was largely patterned after the BSA A10 Golden Flash series of motorcycles which is why it looks like a BSA.
The Cyclone model was only made for the 1958 year and only about 200 were made for export to the USA which makes it a fairly rare model. Considering who owned this particular bike, it will probably be bided over the moon.
When Waylon Jennings was making the move from Nashville to Arizona around 2000, he was offered $750,00.00 US for the Cyclone and turned it down hoping for a higher offer. Obviously a higher offer did not materialize.
If the winning bid is ever revealed it will be interesting to see how much was paid for it.
