There was a thread on this subject a while back regarding the "good enough" front tire with the less than normal tread depth.
My front wore out very quickly because of the reduced tread depth and it wouldn't pass our vehicle inspection.
I was a bit stunned at how quickly it wore down to the wear bars. I think it was ferret who clued me in on the thin front tire that came from the factory.
The rear tire is still going strong and has lots of meat on it.
