You definitely like to think outside the box j3gq!

I only have a short 29" leg but do find the seat to peg ratio can get at my hips on longer runs. I temporarily sat two 20mm thick pieces of wood between the seat and the frame at the mid and front section while having the rear latch secured. It visually looked OK at the tank join and provided a more comfortable seating position. This was just statically in the garage and needs some extra thought to protection the seat tab at the front. A 3D printer would be handy to try out a front support.

The wood or other material you used will inevitably rub against painted parts of the frame, and - with time and vibrations - slowly destroy the underside of your stock seat too. The gel seat on top, you can find them anywhere from 15 to 35 mm, and the stock seat ... after 20,000 miles will look just like on day one.
