Replacing the hardware with stainless is a great idea; the heads of the original bolts are starting to show a bit of rust.

That's one nice thing about the Givi universal plate, you don't need to drill any holes, no matter what. They engineered a very nice, universal solution that doesn't involve messing with the stock carrier in any way and is still rock solid.

The shad base plate has multiple holes with square washers for the bolts, but none of the base plate holes lined up with the rear carrier tab holes. just drilled holes in the plastic shad base plate. I didn't look at the Givi top cases, sound like they fit.
