Lowering the Brake Pedal

Try lowering the lever first. Look at the master cylinder thru the peg holder. You will see a threaded rod with 2 nuts on it. The large one is a locking nut. Just loosen it, then turn the small nut down. As you turn this nut you can see the lever move downward. (If it goes up, turn the small nut the opposite direction.) You can get about 1/2" difference in the height of the lever. Tighten the large nut. If more is needed, remove the peg holder assembly and remove the brake lever and have it bent like I did mine. Honda told me "I was riding the brake pedal" which caused the rotor to warp from excess heat and began binding up against the caliper. My lever is a good 2" below the rubber foot peg now. Braking is not an issue. I just have to bend my foot further down to depress the lever (but I seldom use the rear brake for normal braking.)
