What's the problem with soap? It works fine, windex too.

Windex evaporates. Soap simply dries.

Heck- I washed my bike last week- and just from that my left heated grip went completely loose and rotating with no effort.

And I didn't use soap to install it- it was just what ran in from washing.

Once it sat a couple days it is pretty much solid now- but I am going to order some grip glue and add a couple drops anyway.

So soap dries...isn't that the idea? Or are you saying that when it rewets with rain or washing, then the grip puppy might get slippery again? I washed mine the other day, and water didn't affect the grip pups at all...still tight as can be afterwards. The instructions on the puppies packaging state to use soap, so that's what I did.

But windex would seem to avoid a possible problem, so next time it's the blue stuff.

FWIW, The package said to use soapy water, so I did... Not Windex. I'm glad I stuck with soap. Windex has ammonia in it and smells nasty.

It was somewhat of a pain to get them on, but after I got the first one on, the second one went on much easier.

I removed the weighted bar ends, slipped the stock grips about halfway off so they could be compressed into the center of the Grip Puppy, then eased the stock grip and GP back onto the bar.

I used a long skinny flathead screwdriver to get the GPs over the end of the stock grips, and by using a circular motion, I was able to ease the GP into position.

I didn't need to cut anything. There was maybe an extra centimeter extra slack at first, but I was all able to compress the slack over the stock grip. It makes the GP feel a lil' bit softer.

Glad to hear you like them. I actually put them on my w800 café because the riding position makes you lean forward and I found myself putting more pressure on the stock grips than with the CB1100. Now it feels funny to ride the CB with no puppies. Might have to order another pair.

The Puppies appear to have that affect.
