I want one more motorcycle...maybe a supermoto

Well, I pulled the trigger! It's perfect for the shorter rides I like to do when I just have an hour or two to kill. I won't be slab bing it much on this bike, but it still can cruise 70 mph if needed. The seat, as some have said, is narrow and hard. I ride bicycles with much less padding and get by.

It's the complete opposite of the CB: light, tall, vibrating, and slow. It actually makes the CB feel incredibly powerful when I ride them back to back. I did order a slip on exhaust and Dynojet kit, so that should make it a little livelier and rowdy. Speaking of rowdy, this bike makes me want to do things generally frowned upon by LEO's. Were it not for all these pesky laws, I'd be tearing off across fields and hike/bike trails.

It is fun. I put a little over 90 miles on it riding around today. It definitely could use more power, but I knew what I was buying. Up to 45 mph, it will stay ahead of traffic easily. Best power is from 7-9k rpm. I think when I do the Dynojet Stage 2 and exhaust, it should give it a nice bump in the 5-7k range which will be useful in moving the bike above 45 mph. It's spinning just under 5k at 45 in 6th, so I think this will make the bike a bit more responsive up to 60 mph which is plenty fast for where I will be riding.

It feels about the same as my KLR250 I had around 15 years ago. Like the KLR, it gets about 65 mpg. The suspension is way better, as are the brakes. This thing, even with cheapo bias ply tires has decent grip. I plan on going to a 90/10 or 80/20 street/dirt tire when these wear out. Even on the dual sport tires I had on my KLR, I could lean it way over without it getting too squirmy.

So far, I am having a blast. It squirting through traffic nicely and I love the tall riding position. We have a popular twisty road where the motorcycles and sports cars go and I took it out there this afternoon. It's the first time I have had a bike I could pin the throttle at the apex and keep WOT all the way to the next corner because I was only getting up to 50 mph. It's a great way to improve you skills by riding a slow bike at 10/10ths. I plan on using this to take the advanced rider course so I don't risk dropping my CB. For that reason, I would recommend a supermoto because it's easier to live with some rash over some plastic fantastic sport bike. RC390 does looks like a blast. I love thumpers!
