Problem is, I can't afford the KLR and the Grom is really pretty useless, so I found what might be the bastards child of the two:

Realistically, the Grom is just a toy...modern day, street legal monkey bike. You also have to spend about a grand extra to make the suspension handle a 200 lb rider. Then, you are limited to a top speed of around 60 mph and a bike not legal for the freeway.

The KLR is a jack of all trades bike and it is comfortable for day long rides and allows you to go anywhere. I had a 1991 KLR and I still regret selling it. I would enjoy a new one, but don't want to pay new money for one when I know I could find a nice used one with farkles for $3k.

I fully realize that my lack of patience and a propensity for being impulsive often lead me astray. I found a 2009 Kawasaki KLX250SF for a price that makes it hard to pass up. I almost took it home yesterday, but I wanted to sleep on it. After doing so, I still want it. I figured that I can get my money back out of the bike if I decide it isn't right. It'll run fast enough for short runs on the highway and can handle a dirt road. It's also a ton of fun to hoon the snot out of a low powered bike without much worry of breaking the speed limit. Everybody needs a hooligan bike, right?

Hoon the snot out of it, I love it! Wish I could say that! I'm demonised for making any jokes on here that don't 'comply'. Recently I got admonished for laughing at a 'fart joke' all of which were mysteriously deleted by Ferret. I am on the brink of giving up on the dual standards of this so called 'forum'. What a bloody joke!

Tortuga there are no dual standards on this forum. I don't allow anyone to use foul language or make inane 4th grade bathroom humor or sexual innuendo jokes, like your juvenile masturbation innuendo that I recently deleted. If I see it, and it doesn't fit our standards, I edit it, or delete it, no matter who types it. That is the way it has always been, long before you joined the forum. Everyone else understands that. All you have ever been asked to do is to abide by the same forum decorum as everyone else. It was what you were asked to do six months ago, and it is what you were asked to do recently by private pm. For some reason, you don't think you should have to abide by the decorum every one else abides by. At this point I encourage you to give up on us, because quite frankly unless Guth tells me otherwise, I will keep moderating as instructed, and I am tired of you constantly testing us and pushing against what we have set up here. This is Guth's house. He owns this website. He says how he wants things in his house. He asked me to enforce the decorum he has set forth, and I do that to the best of my ability. If you are not in agreement then by all means, please go find another forum that you don't think is a "bloody joke".

And I apologize to other forum members who have to read that, since it should be a private matter handled by PM, but since we were disparaged in public I am replying in public.
