The klx250 is too under powered as a hooligan..... It's a light fun bike off-road, but on the slab, you will,feel the strain....
If you want something fun, bulletproof, and cheap... Drz400.... I still miss mine, and I had the 3x3 mods, and fcr39 carb... I sold it in favor of a stupid fast 625ktm for track days..Wish I had kept the drz.. While not as much power, it was bulletproof...
