True, but in Belgium and a lot of other countries its kinda the successor for the CB1300 since they stopped selling the CB1300
Both also being rather traditional naked bikes I can see why the CB1100 replaced the CB1300
Yamaha has about the same level of bike with their XJR 1300, yet instead of pulling it out of certain markets (but I believe that model was never even presented in North America...) they made an evolution of that model.
Personally I am happy that Honda decided to go with the CB1100 if they had to chose between both models.
