I agree with having it only to get out of pain....as crazy as it sounds....if that is the goal....walking again is a bonus.
I had my hip surgery March 2014, got my CB in April, rode it at my first rally in May 2014....but it was 2 years before I'd say I had full use of that hip, 3 years before I never felt any any twinges of pain. Now after 4 years it's my good hip....but I dread getting the other one done some day. Yes I'm glad I had it done, got me out of constant pain, but the recovery was a lot longer than I expected.
They say knees are worse than hips.....I don't envy anyone having go through that ...but if getting out of pain is the goal...it becomes an easy call....No one wants to live in constant pain.
As my doctor said, 'you'll tell me when you're ready' meaning you'll tell me when you just can't stand the pain any longer.
