Since the demise of the ST, been looking for a new 2 up sport tourer. There are only 2 that qualify IMO. The BMW R1200RT and the Yamaha FJR 1300. My local dealer that I've bought a bunch of bikes from Beechmont Yamaha is a Yammie dealer so this was a no brainer for me.

TA DA! 2018 Yamaha FJR 1300

Grandkids # 3 & 4 (of 5) helped me pick it up lol

I took the long way home which included riding "the Loop" (all new bikes that come to my house ride "the Loop" first day)

A lot different than the ST. Kinda like a big full dressed liquid cooled shaft drive CB1100 lol. 25 horses more and 80 pounds less than the ST. A bit taller, but I had the seat cut down on the ST and will have the same guy do this one. Need to get a trunk but waffling on brand and size. Any suggestions?

I've always said my favorite motor is the liter + inline 4. This bike should be riight up my ally.
CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! but also a very serious warning = do NOT even think of getting rid of CB1100Tongue

Awesome!
That is an excellent bike for a very deserving person, family approves as well.
Someone near here got one as well and is very pleased with it, congratulations!

problem solved.
Beautiful! Ride and enjoy!
Congrats! Enjoy it in good health! I really like that matte blue finish!

I have no clue about trunk recommendations but I'm sure the FJR community can offer you a million opinions on what's best. Fun!
Congrats Ferret!!

My CB1100 Forum Secret Decoder Ring was RIGHT!! A new FJR!
Wise purchase ferret. There's hardly a better sport-touring bike for the money IMO. I hope years of trouble free riding on the new mount. Beautiful bike.
I looked heavily into the original FJR1300 after reading about it on motorcycledaily.com 15+ years ago, but ended up also reading and lusting after a ZRX1200 which I eventually bought and it still sits in my garage- un-ridden, as I love the CB.

All of them are great bikes. In fact there was a guy with an FJR at the dyno last week while I was there- he was getting suspension work and had slip-on mufflers.
This was, and still is, my favorite sport tourer. I miss my 2005 FJR sometimes. With the Corbin saddle and some bar risers, it was supremely comfortable. Up to that point, all I had owned were crude single cylinder dual sports. The FJR was a revelation.

Excellent choice and congratulations!
