Always. I've owned about 70 motorcycles of all types excepting heavyweight touring bikes. This is over about 35 years. Dirt bikes, dual-purpose and MX 2-stroke, ADV before anyone called them that, always had some kind of supersport or superbike, standards, Harleys, I just like all kinds of bikes.

The Internet has never played any role in my riding career. I just dive in and buy a bike and if it doesn't work out after a certain time, I say goodbye to it.

My impression of the Thruxton R, at first, was that it was top-heavy as compared to the Street Cup. It feels much like the CB1100 but of course, a bit lighter.

My issue with the Street Cup after a year and 5,000 miles is that the bike is too soft, not suspension, but power/brakes. Power/weight ratio is not favorable to my riding needs.

The Thruxton has been out long enough so if there were any longer-term issues they may have come to light.

Frankly I seriously doubt there are any real concerns based on the quality of the Street Cup/Bonneville series. I see a lot of Triumphs on the road as well.

I had a real good ride with a guy on a Thruxton once as I mentioned, and that settled the issue for me as to which bike could get around a tight turn better, but for practical reasons the Thruxton has the kind of power and brakes I want, and the right size wheels.

I have two bikes I'd be happy to trade off to reduce the number I need to maintain and hassle over, one of which is really never ridden (F700GS). That Thruxton looks, based on specs, like it might get ridden a lot more.

I'll be buying and trying different motorcycles as long as I hold my license.

I don't have a hard time accepting that your addiction might have existed prior to the influence of the Internet, but clearly the above statement is simply not true.
