Testrode one but ended up buying a Bullet.
An oldstyle onecylinder reduced to bare necessities has something very fascinating. I could'nt resist. If the bike is then finished with a good portion of chrom combined with a nice colour it's even the better. The SR400 looks very attractive.

I am a big fan of the Bullet. The history of Royal Enfield is fascinating as is the devotion to the brand that the Indian people have. There are some great videos on Youtube that really capture this devotion and it isn't difficult to start feeling the same way. Before I ever watched any of those, I began to understand the appeal of such a simple and classic motorbike.
The dealership where I work had a 2013 Bullet 500 that we bought from a widow. It was one of the first fuel injected Bullets, so it would fire right up and settle into a slow, chugging idle. I much enjoyed my ride on that bike which was around 35 miles. The torque was so satisfying. The flywheel felt like it weighed 40 lbs and it seemed like the engine made 2 complete rotations after shutting off the key.
The Enfield is quite a delight to ride. I wanted to buy the bike we had, but at the time was not looking to add a 4th bike to my garage. If we still had it today, I might have been hard pressed to decide between the two.
