It was a 4 valve design with 2 exhaust ports. Honda called it radial four valve combustion (RFVC). The valves were positioned radially instead of the two pairs sitting parallel across from each other. These were used on a lot of the XR series bikes in the 80s. Some even had dual carbs feeding the two intake ports. It looks like this Genuine may have a single throttle body, but it's hard to tell from the photos on that link I posted.
