Nope.
Cosmetically it was in good shape for its age. I wanted it to perform half as good as it looked.
First off the kids selling it for their pops knew zilch about it. The carbs were not done by a Honda shop and were way off. One cylinder was barely awake. It smoked. Quite a bit. Could have been rich or rings. Probably both. It idled at 3k. But the big one Elizabeth was no back brake. The research I did prior to checking it out taught me that it's a linked brake system and the 83 rear master cylinder was a one year part. Unobtainium NOS. It could be rebuilt but if it was trashed that's a big problem.
Just too much to do as a project for me due to the complexity of the machine. I'm a luddite ffs. Give me air cooled and carbs.
It's a shame as I've wanted one for a while now and 7284 miles is a unicorn.
She did text me after I left and said she talked to her dad and said she would take less. I responded that I couldn't pay more than $500 as is. And if I got it for that I would just part it out as Josh mentioned. There's $ in these parts as I looked today on Ebay. I told her that's the route she should go but I doubt that'll happen.
Oh well, my girlfriend is happy at least.
