Fun fact, I found out that some people were meddling with a CB300 motor swap into a Grom, and apparently it's a direct bolt-on swap (!!) Now that could be a totally different animal

The Monkey was definitely never designed for speed. It can barely sustain 60 mph. But the 2022 model can get 200 miles on a tank for about 178 mpg. This is ideal for hauling away on fun getaways and for urban travel. It also competes well with modern full electric bike offerings currently available.
With respect to the Grom, yeah, the Monkey's price is definitely taking advantage of its looks and appeal even though the drivetrain is the same as the Grom.
