When I owned a BMW and wanted to stop for a coffee, I'd check the parking lot on the way up. If there was another BMW parked out front, I'd park in back. I didn't need the looks of disdain I'd get stepping off of a Beemer wearing Joe Rocket and Scorpion gear.
A word of wisdom from someone who owned the same generation R1200... The ABS pump is horrifically expensive and fragile. Get your brake fluid changed annually, and when you do, sacrifice a live goat or chicken to the ABS Gods. And sprinkling some pigs blood on the final drive while doing a chant every few months can't hurt either.
