I've been following this thread with interest and even though I'm new to this club I have found that every one buys a certain motorcycle for their very own specific reasons. I've been riding since the seventies. 1972 Honda CL450( resurrected basket case) 1973 Yamaha RD350( my brothers bike but I rode it more than him) 1983 Honda CB 1100F ( my first new bike) 1982 Honda CBX ( bought in 1985 as left over with 3 miles on the clock and half the price and still own it . At the time I looked at it as a bike I could grow old with it. During that time Every year there was a faster bike which made last year's bike obsolete. Rode a 1979 cbx with a sport kit in th one late 90's at a Cbx meet liked it so I acquired 1979 Honda CBX bought bike in 2005 , but it was in cherry condition with only 10k on the clock and a Cbx vendor happened to have a complete Honda Sport kit for it. Completely different experience that the 82. 2000 Harley Davidson Road King - my brother decided I needed a newer bike to ride in 2012 when I took him to a motorcycle museum up in Newburgh NY and the ' newer' of the two bikes I owned which I rode to the museum was in there on display and Hondas don't put. Handles like a fire truck, but is great on lazy back roads up here in NY and eats the highway miles. I fell in love with the CB1100 when I first saw it at the bike show in NY and It was my brother that found it for me in NC. I haven't had a lot of time to ride it or my other bikes this year hopefully it will change this summer. I imagine most guys in this club have an emotional attachment to our bikes. If they don't speak to you, then maybe it in is time to move on.
