Hey Mike,

You have to remove the left side cover and tank. Once the tank is removed its right there in the middle toward the back. Be careful when taking it out the support bracket is very weak. The left side cover removal is to disconnect the fuel pump harness. If you don't have a shop manual PM me.

This is what your looking for::

DONT HAVE A SHOP MANUAL BUT IT IS JUST THOSE TWO HARNESSES THAT NEED DISCONNECTED AND ITS OR IS THERE MORE TO DISCONNECT here you go:
Burn off some fuel to make the tank lighter
Remove the left side cover and disconnect the fuel pump (black connector) start the bike and let it run till it stalls. Turn the key off and disconnect the negative terminal. Remove the tank bolt and raise the tank as high as you can and support. Disconnect the breather hose. The fuel line has a rubber ring with a tab, pull it out of its position, than squeeze the tabs on the fuel line and pull apart to disconnect. Pull the tank to the rear to disengage rubber mounts on the front.
